Ritual Guide

Dive into a potent ritual journey of self-expression, healing, and release through the element of air. The air element governs communication, breath, and clarity, making it a potent force for those seeking to clear energy blockages and foster deep connections between mind and body. Whether you are new to spiritual practices or a seasoned practitioner, this ritual will help you work with air to heal, express, and transmute energy through the power of breath and sound.

Step 1: Opening the Space with Selenite

  • Hold your selenite wand and circle it gently around yourself and your ritual space, casting a protective circle. As you move your wand, visualize it creating a shielding and peaceful barrier of light.
  • Allow your selenite to amplify the air element’s energy, allowing your space to become a sanctuary of healing, clarity, and pure connection to higher realms.
  • Set the intention to welcome the air element into your practice, allowing its flow to guide you through healing and transformation.

Step 2: Smudging & Candle Lighting

  • Light your white spell candle, symbolizing clarity, purity, and illumination of your path. Allow the flickering flame to remind you of the subtle movement of air, carrying away unwanted energies and lighting the way forward.
  • Next, light your dried lavender bundle and allow the calming smoke to rise. Gently wave the bundle around your space and your body, visualizing the smoke working with the air clearing away any stagnant or blocked energy. Lavender is known for its calming properties, soothing the mind and spirit while preparing the space for clarity and openness. This is best done outside or inside with an open window or two.
  • As the air carries the lavender’s soothing essence, feel it purifying the space and your aura, allowing you to connect more deeply to the practice.

Step 3: Pranayama Breathwork (5-15 minutes)

  • Once your space feels clear and open, begin your pranayama breathwork practice by sitting comfortably and focusing on your breath.
  • How to do it: Inhale deeply through your nose for a count of four, allowing your belly to fully expand as you take in air. Hold your breath gently at the top for a moment. Then, slowly exhale through your mouth for a count of six, releasing any tension or stagnant energy as the air leaves your body. Pause briefly at the bottom of the breath before repeating. Remember to keep these breaths gentle and not too forceful.
  • Continue this cycle for 5-15 minutes, focusing on the flow of breath. Visualize it clearing out any blockages and inviting in fresh, new energy. Allow the breath to connect your mind and body, moving energy freely and easily.

Step 4: Mantra Discovery

  • As you finish your breathwork, close your eyes and ask source energy, the universe, your higher self, or any form of higher power you connect with to reveal a message or phrase that you need to hear more often. Don’t over think this and write what first comes to mind without judgement of what comes through.
  • This could be a simple mantra like "I am enough," or "Everything I need is with me now or well on its way."
  • Hold this mantra in your mind as a guiding phrase for your ritual. Allow it to resonate deeply with you, knowing that it carries the energy of air and sound.

Step 5: Journaling Intentions for Healing or Manifestation

  • Now that you have your mantra, take a moment to journal it along with your intentions. Write down what you are ready to heal and release—this could be emotional, mental, or energetic blockages.
  • Alternatively, focus on what you wish to magnify and attract through the air element. Air is a force of movement and transformation, so write down any energetic states or emotional experiences you want to bring into your life.
  • Let this journaling session solidify your intentions and serve as a tangible connection between your thoughts and the physical realm.

Step 6: Howlite Crystal & Meditation (10-20 minutes)

  • Hold your howlite crystal, a stone connected to the air element, known for its calming, soothing energy. Howlite helps reduce anxiety, promotes patience, and enhances communication, making it the perfect companion for this ritual.
  • Sit in a comfortable position, holding the howlite in your hand or placing it over your throat chakra (located at the base of the neck) if you’re laying down.
  • Begin your meditation by repeating your chosen mantra on every out breath or softly humming. As your vocal chords move with intention, stimulating the throat chakra, visualize the energy of air swirling in this area, opening up space for clear, honest self-expression.
  • Imagine the sound waves from your voice traveling through the air, dissolving any energetic blockages as it continually passes through with each breath. The sound vibrations clear and cleanse your body and mind, helping you release what no longer serves you.
  • Continue this sound healing meditation for 10-20 minutes, allowing the sound to carry away stagnant energy and fill your body with the fresh, flowing energy of the air element.

Step 7: Closing the Ritual

  • When you feel ready, give thanks to the air element for working with you through this journey of energy-moving and healing.
  • Safely extinguish the white candle and the lavender bundle, knowing that the energy of air will continue to flow through you as you move forward in your daily life.
  • Keep your howlite crystal with you after the ritual, especially in places where you need to communicate clearly or bring calm energy, such as your workspace or next to your bed. It will serve as a reminder to stay open, centered, and aligned with the element or air.
